A Movie Feast

While I had plans for the weekend, I woke up early Saturday morning with a fever and chills and a severe respiratory infection. After a visit to the doctors for medication, I crawled into bed. Since I couldn’t get out this weekend, I decided to catch up on the movies that I haven’t had time to watch. First, I watched Last Vegas starring Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline and Mary Steenburgen. With so many great actors in one movie, I had great expectations. I was not disappointed. Having recently reunited with a childhood friend, I especially enjoyed the bond that they shared for so many years—once a best friend, always a best friend.

After my son and husband went out, I watched Sex Tape with Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel. First, I related to being a mommy blogger. Then, I was amazed at how well they portrayed the challenges of being parents. It is stressful and exhausting for all of us, and we need to find ways to reconnect with our partner. And, just like Annie and Jay, we need to remember why we wanted to be together in the first place. I think every couple could benefit from watching Sex Tape. But, it is important to remember that you’re not 18 anymore. Don’t try all of the positions! What is the best movie you have watched lately?

Thanks for the Memories

Watching the 40th Anniversary of Saturday Night Live (SNL), I am grateful for all of the laughs. So many greats (Justin Timberlake, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro, Alec Baldwin, Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler, Dan Aykroyd, Billy Crystal, Eddie Murphy, Jim Carrey, Paul McCartney, Sigourney Weaver, Jane Curtin, Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Martin Short, Jon Bon Jovi, Jerry Seinfeld and Glenn Close) gathering to honor what has become an institution for many of us. I am having trouble deciding which of the skits is my favorite. There are so many great memories from SNL. What is your favorite skit?
