Yesterday I left the beach and enjoyed a walk down memory lane at Cider Hill Farms in Amesbury, MA at http://www.ciderhill.com/index.htm. Cider Hill Farms is a family and community focused orchard and eco-friendly farm. I went there when I was growing up and it was exciting bringing my son there to enjoy peach picking with me. Climbing the hill to the orchard, I was transported back 20 years. When I reached the top of the hill and looked down over the farm, I suddenly forgot about all of the problems at work and projects at home. Even though it took me longer to get up the hill this year (20 years older), I still felt like a kid again. And, I tried to race my son, challenging him to a competition for who could pick the most peaches. After filling our basket with peaches, we raced down the hill to the store to find their famous cider donuts, jams, all sorts of treats, as well as a selection of gluten-free and dairy free options for my son. There was something for everyone. Since I couldn’t carry anymore and there are still more items that I want to try, I will have to go back for more fresh GMO free vegetables and fruit. I hope I see you there on my next trip.
