Today we say good-bye to James Ingram and hold his family close. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Moreover, he touched the lives of everyone who knew him. With a gentle, quiet strength, he served his family, his Church and his Country. Sitting with him for many holidays over the years, I witnessed his loving support of all of those around him. He was always more interested in everyone around him than himself. I am grateful that I was part of his family and I will miss him. Since we will meet again in Heaven, I only need to say “Peace be with you Jim until we meet again.”
In Brownies as a little girl, I remember singing “Make new friends and keep the old, one is silver and the other gold.” Reconnecting with a childhood friend, I have come to understand that my old friend is gold. Just like when we were growing up, we share what’s going on in our lives. Because of our history, we have an appreciation for each other and understanding. When we get together, I am brought back to her family farm and sitting on the hill talking for hours. I want to send a special Happy Birthday to my dear friend Kathy. Here’s to many more Happy Birthdays for you, Kathy!
